Practical Nursing Program
Practical Nursing: The forecast is healthy – jobs expected to increase 21% by 2018!
Practical nurses provide essential care for sick, injured and disabled patients under the supervision of physicians and registered nurses (RNs). A practical nurse is trained to provide simple care procedures for patients with well-defined health issues, and often work in settings like nursing homes, residential care facilities, outpatient treatment centers, hospitals, home health care, doctors’ offices and clinics. A Practical Nursing certificate from our program gets students prepared for the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN), and for entry-level employment under the guidance of a registered nurse or licensed physician. In some states, the practical nurse position is referred to as a vocational nurse. Our Practical Nursing program is dedicated to providing students with the applicable, hands-on nursing experience needed to be a success in the field.
